Property and Intellectual Property: movable-immovable; tangible-intangible

Title - ownership& possession; Rationale behind IP System, balancing interest of the society, compulsory licensing, traditional knowledge, case studies – haldi, neem, basmati etc

Type and Introduction to IPR

Category and Types of Intellectual Property and the rights (IPRs) therein; Introduction of various Intellectual Property Rights, differentiate one IP from another

International IP Regime

International IP Treaties – Paris Convention, Berne Convention, TRIPS Treaty etc ; International IP Authorities – WTO, WIPO, USPTO, EPO etc; WIPO Administered Treaties, Sovereign Rights

Introduction and stages of IP life-cycle: Creation, protection, management, commercialization; recent concerns - IP audit, IP valuation, IP exchange, Competition issue & unfair trade practices
