Objective: 

This course will enable the students to Illustrate practical aspect of cellular metabolism and bioenergetics. The students will also estimate viable cell count and compare chromosomal arrangements in normal and mutated cells.

 

CONTENTS:

1.   Cell division studies: Mitosis and Meiosis

2.   Identification of chromosomal aberration in squamous cells

3.   Effect of colchicine on mitosis

4.   Cellular respiration in bean seeds

5.   Effect of amylase on starch

6.   Cell Metabolism using Alcoholic fermentation by yeast

7.   Estimation of blood glucose by Glucose oxidase method and relation with diabetes

8.   Viable cell count by Trypan blue staining technique
